With the great help of FilippoBiga (creator of Springtomize), we are able to have ThemeIt’s first official contest for themers!  As most of you might already know, the new version of Springtomize (v1.4 in cydia) allows you to custom theme the lockscreen battery.  What better way to support that than to use ThemeIt?!  So, get your creative juices flowing.  Here’s how it’s going to work:

Here’s another one we get many questions about.
When Theme it was launched we planned on releasing free themes within 6-8 weeks. How naive of us we never could expect the impact that Theme it currently has on the iCommunity and the traffic it generates. As some know, we already had a couple server overloads, first was on launch day and another happened after a major update of the app. We have fixed these issues and now have a very stable platform for our users.
But here’s the thing with free themes. THEY WILL GENERATE A LOT MORE TRAFFIC, probably more then paid themes currently do…. and that means one thing : We can’t do it, or at least not now.
There many reasons why this can’t happen at the moment. There’s a technical aspect, we would need a least other dedicated servers. There a financial issue, free themes are… well free but all the rest on our part isn’t free, servers, manpower to take care of the themes distribution, user support, etc… making this simply impossible for us.

Of course we want it to happen, that’s why we included that button in the app at first, and we’ll keep looking for solutions to be able to make this come true as we know that many, many users would love a nice place to get amazing free themes…. so just stick around and i’ll update this post whenever something new on this subject comes up.

I hope this will help clarify the situation and really make you understand that we want these free themes as much as you do, but we can’t compromise the rest of the app for them.
